GCND Schedules

Welcome to God Country Notre Dame (GCND). GCND is a blog set up to bring you the latest in Notre Dame Football and Basketball.

We also encourage our followers to get together with us on GCND at game time to share their thoughts on the games in progress throughout the season.

GCND is in no way affiliated with the University of Notre Dame or its Athletic Department. GCND does not harass recruits for interviews, we politely ask them.

Here are the staff and main contributors of GCND.

Jason “Zebra” O’Mahony :- Owner / Blog Administrator / Football / Football Recruitment

I live in County Cork, “The Rebel County”, in the Republic of Ireland and have been following Notre Dame football since 1987. Outside of my family, Notre Dame football is the most passionate thing in my life. I have never been to South Bend to see the Irish play, but I will one day, make it over there.

I also referee American Football in Ireland. Funniest moment in refereeing was watching a coach practice his golf swing at half time while his team was down 40-0.

Jeremy “Juicy Stakes” Lobenthal :-  Football / Football Recruitment / Tailgating Administration

I am 30 Years old married with 2 Amazing boys (wife and I are working on adopting them).
I currently live in a small town called New Waverly and it takes me about an hour and 25 mins to hit campus.

Hobbies: I love music and DJ on the side (weddings, parties, and whatever else you can think of) Played football for 12 years including my brief stint with a Semi-Pro team winning our Conference and the League Championship. I’m also a firefighter and working on becoming a Paramedic.

How I became an Irish Fan: Everyone in my family has always been an IU(Indiana University) fan and we are Irish so when I started understanding more about our family I became an Irish fan instantly.

My Tradition(s) for ND Games: If I’m @ ND for a game I’m all about setting up a great Tailgate for people to come hang out and enjoy some of my grilling. Last year me and my friends were @ ND by 5:30 AM and were enjoying breakfast by 6:30! Come by and say hello……

Mark Kevin Allen :- Basketball / Basketball Recruitment

I am a very YOUNG looking 53 ha-ha!  I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio.  I have been following The Fighting Irish ever since I saw those golden helmets watching Notre Dame replays in the late 1960s, hosted by Lindsey Nelson and Paul Hornung.  I loved Notre Dame so much I actually moved to the South Bend area in 2006 and currently reside 1o minutes from campus.  I do have an athletic background, playing minor league baseball at the AAA level.  I will be covering all things related to Notre Dame basketball.  Residing in Section 7 at the Irish women’s basketball games, I will devote a lot to that subject.

Michael “Kavs” Kavanagh :- Football Contributor

I’m a 37-year-old father of 5 from County Wexford, Ireland. I have followed Notre Dame since 1989 & have often considered if I have cursed my beloved Irish by following them. Most likely the simple fact that Notre Dame are known as the Irish was the reason i was drawn to them but I was soon hooked on the tradition & the history of the team & that is what i will be focussing on in the articles I’ll be writing for the blog great coaches, great players great games & luckily there’s plenty of each to write about.
